Passengers in Písek will benefit from improved public transportation. The project's goal is to raise their awareness and understanding of public transportation. The problem will be solved by organizing transportation and providing information elements both inside and outside vehicles.
In the first phase, information pieces will be installed at 19 public transportation stops to educate passengers of departures, anticipated delays, and emergency circumstances. The City of Písek is collaborating with Busem on the equipment of these stops and public transportation vehicles so that current traffic data can be obtained and, as a result, current information can be passed on to passengers.
The project's following phases will streamline and clarify information on individual public transportation connections, as well as provide alternatives to private car transportation. Integration of bicycle transportation into public transportation, whether individual (development of new bicycle parking spots) or organized (so-called bike-sharing), is a critical component of this step.
