Smart Písek contributed to the development of a strategy for sustainable mobility and a plan for sustainable greenery in the city of Písek, particularly in the area of public transportation, by proposing a new concept of timetables.

Sustainable Mobility Plan and Písek Sustainable Green Plan

A welcoming community for individuals of all backgrounds that develops economically thanks to good business circumstances. However, always keeping the environment and sustainability in mind.

Písek is a city of small distances, where you can travel easily and safely on foot or by bike. Pedestrians and cyclists have the same access to the city as car traffic users. Pedestrians and bicycles have easy access to the entire city's territory, with existing barriers removed and new ones avoided.

The concept document Sustainable Mobility Plan and Sustainable Green Plan will provide a long-term integrated development strategy for the city of Písek in order to meet the mobility needs of the public and businesses in the city and its environs, as well as to improve quality of life. The conceptual plan, which is based on the City of Písek's Spatial Plan, coordinates the requirements for spatial and transportation planning and also specifies the conditions for decision-making in the area of public space arrangement and functional use in relation to the landscape, as well as the urban integration of public greenery, transportation structures, and public infrastructure.

The document establishes a system of interconnection of individual public spaces, as well as a transportation system that ensures accessibility to all target groups, prefers environmentally friendly transportation with minimal environmental impact, reduces energy consumption, and ensures safe transportation with the elimination of critical points.

The Smart Písek organizational unit is currently working on developing follow-up action plans, particularly in collaboration with the Písek Municipal Services and the Písek Municipal Police. Last but not least, the organizational unit was involved in the implementation of the new urban public transportation plan, which is scheduled to begin in late 2020.
