The city of Písek will launch a parking navigation system that will use data from mobile phones on January 1st, 2018. Almost 1,200 parking spaces will be covered by the system.
Traffic Navigation System
Since 2018, the city of Písek has been using a traffic navigation system. It is made up of three primary components:
- Smart parking lots
- Active vertical marking
- Navigation portal
The navigation portal provides information collected by analyzing data from the mobile operator's network in addition to data from smart vehicle parks. It was feasible to monitor the occupancy of a significant number of parking places on the street as a result of this. In terms of traffic planning and management, these data are quite valuable.
