Datum: 17.03.2023 Kategorie: Projects in progress

This year, the city of Písek officially joined the Re-Value project, in which, alongside selected European cities, it will deal with the application of urban planning and climate measures for sustainable development in specific locations with the aim of creating an optimally welcoming city with an emphasis on future climate neutrality.

This pilot project aimed at the quality of the environment in the city has the ambition to define, through the interaction of several factors in the field of urban planning, climate, smart solutions, etc., the gradual transition of a city the size of Písek to climate neutrality and an increase in the quality of life and the environment at all levels, while use of innovative technologies. As stated by PhDr. Miloš Prokýšek, head of the Smart Písek organizational component, which sponsors the project on behalf of the city of Písek "Within the framework of the Re-Value project, a total of 9 European cities will jointly seek to optimize the future layout of these cities with an emphasis on urbanistically balanced solutions and sustainable development, despite the fact , that the cities involved differ geographically and culturally. The project is based on 4 leading cities (Burgas, Bruges, Rimini and Ålesund) and 5 replication cities (Rijeka, Cascais, Constanta, Izmir, Písek), while another 30 institutions, initiatives, associations and universities across Europe are involved in the project. A strong emphasis is placed on the involvement of citizens and other important partners, which is why Sladovna Písek o.p.s., for example, was also approached for cooperation, whose task will be to continuously present the project to the public in an entertaining way." We also assume the use of current knowledge of the elements of the blue-green infrastructure at specific locations in the city of Písk, water management measures and its positive effect in cooling the microclimate of the urban parterre, including, for example, checking the possibilities of a suitable connection of the Otava River with the inner city of the city. Therefore, in addition to the Smart Písek team, the staff of the environmental department or the city architect will also participate in the professional parts of the project. A comprehensive set of outputs should then enable the participating cities to integrate systems on their way to climate neutrality, in multiple layers of sustainability (ecological, infrastructural, political, administrative, natural, social, cultural, economic, aesthetic, legal, business, etc.). The City Council formally approved the connection of the city of Písek to the Re-Value project by Resolution No. 212/22 of April 4, 2022. In the next 4 years, the Písek public can look forward to interesting information from the project and to a certain extent also participate in it, adds Miloš Prokýšek.
